Let's Talk: Health & Safety Rights for Individual Artists

Phoenix Theater
2605 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis

While the Performing Arts industry is overall quite safe, that doesn't mean it isn't without some serious health, safety, and wellness risks. Long hours, late hours, infrastructure that creates dangerous working conditions, chemical and poor air quality exposure, and even harassment in the workplace are more commonplace than we would like to admit. Many of these issues are deeply ingrained in our culture, our working traditions, and policies. We all have rights and responsibilities around these issues, and all of us--from the managers and decision-makers, to employees, contractors, and volunteers on the ground--begin by having the right and the responsibility to be informed on those rights. Join us for this incredible gathering with employment lawyers and a representative from OSHA, as we discuss our well-being as individuals, as organizations and as an industry.
