Need a cabinet to magically open and close? A mask to pop up and down? Flowers to dance?
Mechanization is the art and craft of making things move. No surprise that it plays a big role in most solutions to these problems and is a major part of most modern scene and props shops.
Technical Director Adriane Heflin and Props Director Sue Brockman, both of the nationally renowned Children’s Theater Company, join forces to teach this fantastic workshop on the core skills and ideas behind Mechanization.
Participants will spend one session in the Props Shop and the other in the Scene Shop, learning techniques actually used by the CTC and other seasoned veteran craftpeople in making things dance, spin, wilt, bounce and move!
Participants will put all this knowledge to use in making their own project in this hands-on practical workshop.
THIS IS A TWO-DAY WORKSHOP
