Rarig Thrust Stage
Are you interested in operating or designing sound for shows and events? Maybe you already do and want to learn more about digital techniques available to you?
In this in-depth, fun and hands-on practical workshop, local Sound Designers Katharine Horowitz and Montana Johnson will take you through all the basic knowledge you need to get going on editing and cueing sound. Whether you’re interested in designing and editing sound, or you want to learn to program QLab, you’ll find something to get you solidly on your feet.
When this class is over, you’ll be able to:
Edit sound files - including effects, splicing, multi-track layering, and more in Audacity, a free yet tremendously powerful audio editing software.
Work with QLab 3, the industry standard for audio cueing. Advanced functions in QLab will also be covered, providing you with options for effects and other tools that used to take another piece of software or even hardware to achieve.
Understand the basic ideas of signal flow and how to troubleshoot it.
These skills are in high demand across many fields, including film & commercials, music, live performance and special events. Our instructors work all over the country, and this class will provide you with the tools that are most commonly used and sought after in the industry!
Normally a $180 cost (Instructors, space rental, materials, insurance), generous funding from the MN State Arts Board via the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment allows us to present this at $80. Scholarships are available- Contact Laura at email@example.com to apply.
