April is CAREER MONTH for TTT!
Stagehanding was once a traditionally male occupation. Our panel of Women Stagehands are proof that the face of the job is changing. The nature of the job is a physical one and presents a new twist on gender roles and physical capabilities unique to our field compared to the gender politics of many other career fields.
Join our panelists Stephanie Richards, Cindy Lindau, Laura Wilhelm, and Kristin Larsen for a discussion on the positives points and challenges of an evolving stagehand culture from the female perspective.
This event is Pay-What-You-Want (cash or check) at the door but pre-registration would be greatly appreciated!
LOCATION UPDATE*** We will be in the Theatre Building on the Macalester campus in rooms 204 and 205 - discussion in one, refreshments right next door! The Theatre Building is #21 on this map: http://www.macalester.edu/about/maps/
Turn West from Snelling onto St. Clair Avenue, turn right onto the campus drive at the curved brick wall that says "Macalester College," come straight down the campus drive and park in the lot marked "P1 West" and the Theater Building is right there. Tell them you are there for the Women Stagehands Panel. Once in the building T204 and T205 are on the second floor. All rooms are numbered.
