Many people who work in the arts rarely spend much time thinking about the legal side of things until it becomes urgent that we have an answer. For instance: what exactly is an independent contractor and what are their rights? What happens if you get hurt as a result of your work?
Join practicing employment law attorney and William Mitchell professor Nancy Miller-Levin for a seminar and discussion focusing on employment law, worker’s compensation and employee’s rights as pertains to the arts and entertainment industry!
Bring your notebooks and your questions!
This event is Pay-What-You-Want at the door.
We'll be on the Andy Boss Thrust Stage, Park Square's new space. It is located on the lower level of the Hamm Building. Park Square recommends that we use the St. Peter Street entrances, next to Meritage. Take the elevators or the marble staircase to the left of the lobby to reach the lower level.
If you take the elevator the theatre lobby will be to the left; if you took the stairs it will be straight ahead of you.
There is free street parking after 5pm. Here is the parking information page from Park Square's website: http://parksquaretheatre.org/your-visit/getting-here/
However, pre-registering for free will help us plan how much food and drink to bring. Additionally, you can let us know what you’d like to learn and our presenter will do her best to address your concerns!
